Singapore | Singapore Flyer

In Singapore, the second place we hopped off our bus tour was the Singapore Flyer, “Asia’s largest giant observation wheel” at 165 meters tall. I confess it was my first observation wheel experience. I’ve ridden my share of ferris wheels but this was much larger and slower and the cars were glass-enclosed and air-conditioned.

Singapore | Botanic Gardens

The Singapore Botanic Gardens was the first stop we hopped off our Singapore tour (not counting Suntec City Mall). It is also the latest among UNESCO World Heritage Sites we’ve visited. OK, it actually wasn’t named a World Heritage Site — Singapore’s first — until after we visited. But I’m counting it.

Australia, New Zealand & Singapore | By the Numbers

Kail and I recently returned from an amazing three-week R&R to Australia, New Zealand and Singapore — our fifth and final R&R/RRB from Afghanistan. It was three distinct vacations in one and an amazing experience for which words and photos can’t do it justice, particularly the beauty of New Zealand.
