Kail and I spent part of home leave visiting his parents just outside Grand Rapids, Michigan — also known as “Beer City USA.” We even toured the driving force behind this moniker, Founders Brewing Co.
We’re about halfway through home leave. Our departure for Afghanistan seems far enough away, but I know how quickly a few weeks can go by. Time flies when you’re relaxing and spending time with loved ones.
