I really love my home office. After a year of working from a desk that shared space with our living room and dining room, it’s nice to have my own space again.
Besides the family room, the office underwent the biggest before-and-after transformation. It started out with a desk, a cabinet and two tall bookshelves. We moved the cabinet into the family room to use as a TV stand, and we moved the bookcases into the family room to provide some symmetry to Kail’s man corner.
Before.
After. We also moved the twin bed from the guest bedroom into the office to make room for a queen bed (and to provide a comfy spot for me to
nap lie down while studying. Not to mention the extra furniture we own: a small ottoman from Afghanistan, an IKEA bookcase and my favorite: my Salvadoran-made sawhorse desk (not to be confused with our termite-filled pupusa table). My writing/studying/scrapbooking desk.We are also thinking that, if we ever have more than two people visit us at once, having an extra bed is a good idea. We also have an air mattress but that’s just not as comfortable.Do you have a home office?Check out previous Jordan House Tour posts: foyer & living room, kitchen & dining room, family room and guest bedroom.
