Disney Spinning Playlist

spinning, group fitness, spinning playlist, workout playlist, spinning cue sheet, teaching spinningOne of my friends who regularly attends my Thursday morning spin class suggested I put together a playlist consisting solely of songs from Disney movies. At first I was skeptical, because I didn’t think it would be possible to find an hour’s worth of Disney songs appropriate for a workout. The thing about spinning is it’s not all about going as fast as you can. You don’t only need upbeat songs to push you through the workout. You have to mix it up with some high-resistance climbs, elevation changes, sprints and rest songs. So the more I thought about the classic Disney movies I grew up on (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Lion King,” etc.) the more I recognized the potential for a great spin playlist. I did have to do a bit of Googling and Pinterest-ing to come up with 60 minutes of music.Bonus: It’s a great playlist to listen to at work … or anytime, really. You can’t help but be in a good mood (or at least, a better mood not as bad of a mood) after listening to these songs.I’ve only actually seen about half the movies on the playlist. Full disclosure: I’ve never seen any of the “Toy Story” movies or “Frozen.” I know. Who am I?Well we still have about three months left of our tour (two months and 23 days, but who’s counting?) so I’ve got some time. Considering I’ve only made it to season two of “Breaking Bad,” I don’t know that I’ll make it through four feature-length films. I just don’t spend a lot of time watching movies/TV.What’s your favorite Disney movie? Mine is “The Little Mermaid,” hands down.

  1. What a fun idea! I like when you share your playlists. The only thing that keeps me motivated when exercising is fun music.
