Maldives | A Video

Maldives-Diving-94.jpgMaldives-Diving-94.jpg, we had a wonderful experience diving in the Maldives. There was just the one dive with the super-strong current (which our dive instructor told us was a “medium” current, to them). In the video above during the shark footage you can see all this plankton and other debris flying toward the camera. If the video is a bit shaky it’s because I was hooked onto the reef, literally hanging on for dear life, trying to keep my arm somewhat steady in the current. Meanwhile the shark is just swimming around like it’s no big thing.Have you ever swum with sharks?

    1. Haha thanks! The sharks are small and not really scary. There was too much else going on (strong current, trying to hold on) that fear of the sharks themselves never really took hold! Anything bigger though, I’m not sure how I’d react …

  1. is swum a word? I’ve swam? I’ve swum? I’ve swimmed? I’ve swammed? I’ve swummed?I’ve encountered sharks in the water before. in the bahamas and also snorkeling in the keys. i think they were nurse sharks both times. oh and recently in puerto rico, a daring shark came to the shallow waters wear we were standing but i could only see the lil’ fin poking out. have yet to scuba dive though! some day…maybe
