Slow cookers sometimes get a bad rap. I admit I used to view them with skepticism: a tool in which the lazy cook would throw a bunch of ingredients to produce a meal made with convenience, not love. Serve a Crock Pot dish at a dinner party? Never.

Then I grew up, got a job and realized that holy heck, working full time is exhausting!

Not every homemade dinner has to be a gourmet meal. And just because it’s simple, or made in a slow cooker, doesn’t mean it has to be boring or tasteless.

  1. So cool! I love the article. I don’t have a slow cooker. I know I’d enjoy cooking with it but we’d have to run it on a transformer all day and that’s tough with other appliances all needing to use the same one. The chicken curry in a hurry is an adorable name. Love it!

    1. Thanks! Yeah that would be tough to run the slow cooker along with everything else. I don’t think we’ll have to worry about that in El Salvador, but definitely for future posts.
