Spanish Friday: Un Nuevo Tema

spanish friday, latina-ish, learning spanish I’m trying something new today: Spanish Friday, a great idea from a new-to-me blog, Latinaish. Vamos a ver …English TranslationI’m trying something new today: Spanish Friday, a great idea from a new-to-me blog, Latinaish. So, all the entries on Fridays will be in Spanish, with translations below in English. Usually, I don’t write on Fridays, but this theme will inspire me to write.Even more, this is going to help me learn Spanish — it’s good because my Spanish class ends next week. I’m going to try to write without using Google Translate or a dictionary, but at times I need to find a word or a conjugation of a verb. You are going to see: I write like an eight-year-old girl. What is this? See below. This weekend, my in-laws are visiting: my father-in-law and my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law and my nephew and niece. They live in Michigan. Kail and I invited them to dinner at our apartment tonight. He is going to prepare barbecued pork, cole slaw and macaroni and cheese.Tomorrow they are going to the National Building Museum to see the exhibit of Legos, but I’m not going to go with them because I have to study for my Spanish exam next week. Kail and I went to the exhibit in July 2012 because Kail loves legos. Because of this, he has a large collection of the lego architecture series. This photo is from our visit in 2010 of Frank Lloyd Wright’s house, Fallingwater, in Pennsylvania (in Legos of course). This is the same house, one of the Lego buildings that Kail has. The first photo above is another building in the architecture series, the Guggenheim Museum in New York.At night, we’re going to have dinner with family friends, and also on Sunday (with different friends). During the day Sunday, Kail and my in-laws are going to go to a water park, but I think that I will need to study more. However, if I study enough Saturday, I can go with them Sunday. We’ll see …

  1. Gracias por participar en Spanish Friday! Wow, you did great! I’m pretty sure you’ll ace your Spanish exam :)I’ve visited the Frank Lloyd House “Fallingwater” – it was amazing. How cool to see it now in Lego form LOL

    1. Thanks! I really like the idea of Spanish Friday and hope to keep it up. The Lego exhibit downtown is really great for kids too — there is a huge space to run around and a room of Legos where the kids can build things.
