Today is Kail’s birthday. Now that we’re married, I have inducted him into a tradition my friends and I established in college: The Birthweek. Because why limit the celebrations to just a day?The highlight so far (for me) has been tableside-carved duck at Peking Gourmet Inn Saturday night. It wasn’t specifically a birthweek outing since we had planned to get together with friends to celebrate their engagement, but it fell within the birthweek timeframe. I unfortunately did not take any pictures of said duck because I was too focused on eating. But I think we will be heading back there one more time before leaving DC!Tonight we’re hitting up another favorite from our food bucket list (which I need to update, btw, as we’ve made serious progress since I originally published that post in May).Below are a few more photos from Kail’s first birthweek.Top: Nationals vs. Phillies; Middle (L-R): Zucchini Tots from Skinnytaste.com; Juniper Lane at Lubber Run Ampitheater in Arlington; Bottom (L-R): Padgitt family Heath Bar cake (Kail’s favorite dessert!); XIKAR Cigar Cutter (one of Kail’s birthweek gifts).
