Today is Kail’s birthday. Now that we’re married, I have inducted him into a tradition my friends and I established in college: The Birthweek. Because why limit the celebrations to just a day?The highlight so far (for me) has been tableside-carved duck at Peking Gourmet Inn Saturday night. It wasn’t specifically a birthweek outing since we had planned to get together with friends to celebrate their engagement, but it fell within the birthweek timeframe. I unfortunately did not take any pictures of said duck because I was too focused on eating. But I think we will be heading back there one more time before leaving DC!Tonight we’re hitting up another favorite from our food bucket list (which I need to update, btw, as we’ve made serious progress since I originally published that post in May).Below are a few more photos from Kail’s first birthweek.
Top: Nationals vs. Phillies; Middle (L-R): Zucchini Tots from Skinnytaste.com; Juniper Lane at Lubber Run Ampitheater in Arlington; Bottom (L-R): Padgitt family Heath Bar cake (Kail’s favorite dessert!); XIKAR Cigar Cutter (one of Kail’s birthweek gifts).
Happy Birthday Kail! And thanks once again for coming out to the Juniper Lane gig!

I’ll answer on his behalf: Thanks! (I don’t think the Juniper Lane website will be getting a lot of traffic from my blog. Haha.)

Happy Birthday to Kail! Now I am feeling greedy because I call August my “birthday month.” 🙂 Birthdays are the best! What’s not to like about cake and people reaching out to say “hello” and “happy birthday”?!My fiancé has been teasing me because his birthday falls during the month we are getting married, and he claims I will then call October our “anniversary month” and his birthday will get lost in the shuffle. 😉
